This website is dedicated to exploring and documenting the Nazi era in Hall in Tirol. It focuses on the fates of those who were persecuted, individuals who resisted the regime, and the local history between 1938 and 1945. Our aim is to keep the memory of this dark period alive and to make a lasting contribution to historical education.
Special recognition is given to those from Hall who had the courage to stand up against the Nazi regime – as well as to those who became victims of persecution, exclusion, and violence. Their courage, convictions, and suffering must not be forgotten.
Eighty years after the end of the Second World War, engaging with the past is more relevant than ever. On a local level in particular, we see how individuals – despite facing existential danger – stood up for humanity, justice, and compassion. Their stories are an essential part of our shared history and offer valuable impulses for how we think and act today.
This platform seeks to provide knowledge, encourage reflection, and promote a living culture of remembrance. Only those who understand what happened in the past can take responsibility for shaping the future.
