This website is dedicated to remembering the people of Hall in Tirol who resisted the Nazi regime, as well as those who became victims of persecution and violence. Their courage, convictions, and suffering must not be forgotten. Eighty years after the end of World War II, it is more important than ever to engage with history. On a local level, we see how courageous individuals stood up for humanity and justice, despite great personal risk. Their stories are part of our shared past – and they continue to inspire us today. With this platform, we aim to share knowledge, encourage reflection, and promote a culture of remembrance. Only by understanding what happened can we take responsibility for the future. "To Remember Is to Resist: Family Stories from the Nazi Era – Tyrol 80 Years After Liberation" This work provides an overview of an ongoing research project focusing on local resistance against the Nazi regime in Hall, Tyrol, which will later be expanded to include surrounding communities and the broader Tyrol region. Relatives of resistance fighters are warmly invited to come forward. We would gratefully receive and document any memories in the form of photos, documents, or written records related to the resistance activities of family members or friends. Your contribution could prove invaluable in expanding our knowledge of the Nazi era and preserving it for future generations. Here you can access the freely available online encyclopedia Wikipedia, which provides information about Anton Walder, a resistance fighter from Hall in Tyrol: "Memorial Ceremony (2023)"
