As the deputy of the Bishop of Innsbruck-Feldkirch, he took over the leadership of the Corpus Christi procession – a public confession of faith in a time of growing oppression. The National Socialists only permitted a shortened route, which was not allowed to pass through all the alleys of the town of Hall in Tyrol. Yet despite these restrictions and the awareness of the regime's hostility, numerous faithful gathered: many girls, young women, and adults followed the call and showed their courage to stand up for their Church and their faith – a quiet but significant act of resistance that already foreshadows Lampert's fate and his unwavering path in the years to come.

read more:

gedenkort.at/en/persons/f292034b-c141-5732-b8d9-e675993428be

(EN) Deanery _Hall _in _Tirol _resistance

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Lampert

Father Jakob Gapp (1897-1943)

What does it mean to live as a Marianist in the face of a totalitarian regime? At its core is a daring conspiracy that united the young theology student Reinhold Stecher – later to become Bishop of Innsbruck – with the Hall-based attorney Dr. Josef Mair. Alongside Hans Madersbacher and Franz Mair, they risked their lives to protect the statue from Nazi confiscation – an act of silent defiance that led to Stecher's arrest by the Gestapo and the looming threat of deportation to Dachau. The events surrounding the banned protest pilgrimage and the secret night-time rescue bear witness to the deep roots of faith and moral courage in the Hall and Wipptal regions.

read more:

Dr. Reinhold Stecher (EN)

Blog (ENI) Dr. Josef Mair

Blog (EN) Maria Mair "Maria Mair, the Brave Woman from Glasnhof"

Blog (EN) Maria Waldrast 1941

The Tyrolean Pilgrimage of April 20, 1941

Weisskopf-Msgr.-Michael -Blog (EN)

Blog (EN) Dr. Franz Kolb

www.mariawaldrast.at/en/maria-waldrast/place-of-pilgrimage/
